Babilonia Taormina (Sicily)

Learn Italian by taking a course at Babilonia, the well-known school located in the heart of Taormina. This school has been awarded for the quality Italian classes they provide for their students.

Babilonia is located in the longstanding "Casa Silva", a historical mansion located just 200 meters from the city's ancient Greek theater. Apart from being the home of the school, the building serves as a cultural center and café for the local community. Babilonia has bright and welcoming classrooms, all equipped with wifi which students can use during their study here to make the best of their learning experience. The grounds form part of a large botanic garden, which invites students to relax between classes and share a delicious coffee or Sicilian dessert beneath the trees with their classmates. As well as Italian classes, the school also uses their vast gardens to host book presentations, theater productions, and concerts as well as art exhibitions, in which students can participate in without additional cost, or at an affordable price. By participating in these events, students will have the fantastic opportunity to share a moment with the Sicilian locals and learn a little more about their culture.

The school offers not only general courses but also courses to prepare for the CELI exam, courses for over 50s and a large offering of courses paired with activities, such as diving, gastronomy, and art. All professors at Babilonia have a university diploma and have been trained in teaching Italian as a foreign language.

The team at Babilonia prepares a weekly activities program of social and cultural events including guided city tours, cinema visits, conversation club, opportunities to sample local cuisine and trips to sites of interest in Sicily, amongst others.
