The Genki Japanese school chain has had much success since its establishment over ten years ago, with two schools located in different parts of the country: Tokyo and Fukuoka. As well as the Japanese language classes, students also have a great opportunity to learn more about the unique Japanese culture.
The Genki school is located just ten minutes walking from the Hakata train station, in the heart of Fukuoka. Amongst other facilities, students will find restaurants, parks and shops nearby for their convenience. The school itself is located in a modern building with bright comfortable classrooms.
Genki’s successful methodology is based on offering a professional service with personalized attention for each students. The school balances structured learning with entertaining activities to help students learn in and outside of the classroom. Each class is lead by a native Japanese speaking teacher who teaches with a focus on the students’ interests. Students will have plenty of opportunities to participate in cultural activities alongside their classmates to enjoy a fully immersive experience including participating in tea ceremonies, calligraphy and manga drawing, creating origami and trying on traditional costumes. Students can also participate in visits to temples or even a karaoke party!
All of the teachers at Genki are native Japanese speakers and have also completed training as teachers of Japanese as a foreign language.

I would recommend a language course abroad to everyone.
The preparation with Yalea worked out perfectly and all of my questions were answered where possible.
Everything went well in Japan. My host family came to the airport to pick me up. The room was small but clean and the family was very friendly.
I liked the language course at Genki a lot. At the beginning we were advancing slowly in my opinion but approaching the end of my stay, it was a bit faster. The staff at the school and the teacher were all very competent, friendly and helpful.

Konnichiwa!
After thinking about going to Japan for a long time, I finally did it last December and I have to say that it was a good decision, a very good one. To combine it with a language course was obvious to me because I like language learning and the Japanese language caught my attention.
I have only positive things to say about Yalea and the school Genki JACS: both took very good care of everything, answered all of my questions and concerns. I also really liked the pace of the course, it was not too slow. I was never bored and still had enough time after class and homework to go and explore Fukuoka. I liked the combination of a modern city and well preserved ancient temples and I definitely want to visit Fukuoka and Japan again.
One last praise: I had a lot of luck with my roommate. She was always friendly and helpful. I could manage the small "problems" of daily life with her help (shopping in Kanji) and learnt lots about Japanese life.
No criticism? No. I have to say that everything was perfect for me and the only "problem" I had was that I would have loved to stay longer. A problem I am sure I will be able to solve in the future. ;)
