Opened in 2008, ECELA is located in the charming city Cusco in the highlands of Peru. The school is part of the ECELA group of Spanish language schools known for their friendly approach, high-quality lessons and fun activities. ECELA enables its students to easily spread their course over a number of their different schools if they wish, meaning that you can start your course in Cusco before continuing in the capital, Lima, or across the border in Chile or Argentina.
The school is located in a residential area, just a few blocks from the main shopping area. There is a wide variety of popular restaurants and cafes nearby. Cusco is well-known as the gateway to Machu Picchu, the famous Incan city, and you can easily make the journey to this popular destination in a few hours from the city. Just a few minutes walk from the school, you reach the main street Avenida de la Cultura, from where you can easily visit the city centre on foot or by bus. If you happen to need a break, the school building offers many comfortable spaces to relax.
The ECELA team organizes daily activities for its students including city tours, horseback riding and mountain biking. They can also help you to plan excursions further afield for your weekends.

ECELA Cusco - Damaris
From the start, I felt well looked after. You really helped me to pick a program, as it was important for me to be ready to take the DELE exam in Germany after two months of study. The value for money was also very good for someone like me who would prefer to let someone else organize everything.
I decided to study at ECELA in Lima for one month and at ECELA Cusco for one month. I lived with a host family in Lima and in an apartment in Cusco.
When I arrived in Cusco, it was rainy and relatively cold in the apartment, but this got better as the weather improved and as I insisting on having heating in the apartment. Other than that sometimes there was no hot water or no water at all, everything was satisfactory.
Living in an apartment had its advantages as it is very flexible – you don't have to remember pre-agreed meal times, although you do have to cook for yourself, which didn't bother me.
The Cusco school was very different to the one in Lima, but I don't mean that in a bad way. I was given just as warm a welcome, especially by Eric and Miluska. Unlike in Lima, I did not have a different private teacher every week, but that wasn’t a bad thing as Rocío was a great teacher who really helped me improve.
I also found the recreational activities at the school great: from Lake Titicaca and Pisco Sour making to horseback riding.
However, I would have liked the classrooms to have lights or bigger windows, as it was quite dark at times.
All in all, I am very satisfied with my two month language course.
Thank you so much!
